« 2004/06/08 » 1022 | hockey | | So the Flames lost. It's so very sad. Their gameplay looked desperate, uncoordinated and undisciplined. They were lucky to have lost by only one goal. The Lightning, on the other hand, while also somewhat sloppy in doses, had enough level-headed players to make the difference. Lecavalier pulled what was indeed a Stanley Cup quality maneuver to get the winning goal. You gotta hand it to the goalies, though, for stealing the show -- they were both exceptional and clearly the best player for either team. But man.. poor Calgary. What a disappointment for the Cinderella story. I wouldn't, however, really consider it a "loss for Canada", since most of the star players on the Tampa Bay team are Canadian.

Normally I hate playing racing games on computers, since a keyboard cannot come close to the driving experience of using a steering wheel (including those game-wheels, since their turn-ratios are nowhere close to real cars'). Oh man.. the graphics... the sounds... the tracks! The splatterings of droplets on your windshield, the body damage your car takes, sliding through turns with your engine backfiring -- this game is packed with features, playability, and attention to detail. My only gripe thus far is in trying to understand what the hell McCrae's saying when he's giving you directives. It took me a couple hours before I realized he was saying "Don't cut". I suppose it'd help if I read the instructions, but the game is so easy to get into that they seem rather unnecessary. A great way to kill time between.. uh... KOTOR and VGA Planets sessions.

Similarly, stopped drinking entirely, and it didn't go away. Just one of those things, I think. 2010/07/19 girl ack!! It's weird to think that I am now a parental unit. It was nice to see you hwan! 2010/05/21 Hwan I recall trying earplugs well back in my undergrad years, to mixed results. My sleep was troubled by feelings of claustrophobia. I also have a, perhaps unfounded, fear of not hearing the essential alarm in the mornings. However, I may give these another go, thanks. 2010/05/21 llamatron Have you tried sleeping with earplugs? My flat faces out onto a main road, so I've started using the standard foam plugs. It took a few nights to get used to them, but they make a big difference. 2010/05/21 girl The original swedish title: "Men who hate women".
