Ok, I went and did something extra dumb yesterday night. It seemed pretty harmless at the time, but it has proven thus far to have been quite unwise. I had gone to a2chow's place to lend him some of the games I'd accumulated (and had since completed). While doing an install, I noticed that one of the CDs was splattered with a fine spray of some kind of oily residue. It had beaded up on the surface, and didn't appear to have any smell. I have no idea where it came from, or how it got there. And then I did something really, really dumb. I licked it. There wasn't any taste at all, so I still don't know what it was. After quite a bit of washing, wiping and polishing we were finally able to clean the CD well enough that it could be read by a2chow's CDROM. So the game installed fine, and after a few hours of watching him play, I went home. But that little taste I took would haunt me this morning -- I woke up around 0630 (much earlier than I am used to) with my throat incredibly sore and itchy. I now have a hacking cough and it hurts to talk. Slight headache. Queasy, weak stomach. Upper body is unusually tired. I could use a few more hours of sleep. On the plus side, I have a dentist's appointment this evening!!
